Berkeley Civic Innovation Challenge: Statement of Interest

Overview:
The Berkeley Civic Innovation Challenge (CIC) is a new collaboration between UC Berkeley and the City of Berkeley designed to bring entrepreneurial energy to civic challenge-solving. In this 7-day design sprint (Jan 30-Feb 6), city staff and community organizations identify urgent civic issues and UC Berkeley student teams bring their creativity, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial drive to develop solutions. Powered by the UC Berkeley Big Ideas Contest, the CIC culminates in a pitch event (at Berkeley SkyDeck!) where student teams share innovative prototypes and service models with community leaders. Multiple winning teams will receive up to $4000 plus fast-track opportunities into the Big Ideas final round accelerator program.
Deadline to submit statements of interest is December 1, 2025.
Applicants will be notified by mid to late December regarding their status.
